Goldie and Moving Shadow owner Rob Playford have parted company whilst working on Goldie’s forthcoming ‘Saturnz Return’ album which as a consequence will not be released until January 1998. So what was the nature of Goldie’s gripe? “I’m not having someone mock my singing”. Touchy...

Nigel Benn former boxer and shit-mixer extraordinaire in November’s edition of Muzik attacked “all the little snipers who’ve been having a dig at me ever since I left boxing for DJing”. A small surprise then in December as Muzik’s guest singles reviewer Benn offered a small barrack of ammunition to all his snipers. Pearls of wisdom included, “I’ve never heard of Way Out West.   Shame on Basement Jaxx for their diabolical DJing following Daft Punk’s performance at Que Club, Birmingham. Fortunately their Essential Mix the following week was a bit of a corker...

Unofficial Xmas No.1? Surely it must be a clash between the Chemical Brother’s ‘The Private Psychedelic Reel’ and the Propellerheads featuring Shirley Bassey ‘History Repeating Itself’. Let the battle commence...
